You will have heard of Silver or Golden Jubilee Anniversary or even a Paper Anniversary. These are gifts that are given to the bride (wife) to celebrate wedlock. As well as household items there are also semi precious stones and metals which are traditionally used to celebrate wedding anniversaries. A gift of a charm, earrings or pendants is the most common choice however rings are generally given for milestone anniversaries. At a Silver Jubilee (25 years) wedding and engagement rings are often renewed and replaced with more up to date styles as a celebration of the marriage, this is also the time when an ‘up grade’ of precious metal is done 9ct gold is renewed with 18ct or even 24ct, and white gold or silver is replaced with Platinum.
